PixEdit® Server can be installed either on a physical or a virtualized server, for instance using Hyper-V, VMWare or Microsoft Azure. The PixEdit® Server kernel consists of two 64-bit Windows Service applications which run on 64-bit Microsoft® Windows Server® operating systems. The PixEdit® Server Manager may be installed separately on another system and may also run on Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11. Depending on your document throughput requirements (speed and volume), we recommend increasing the amount of memory, the processor speed and number of cores accordingly. No additional software is required to convert MS Office documents, but if Microsoft® Office is installed on the system it can be used for file format conversion. PixEdit® Server supports most scanned document types such as PDF and TIFF as standard. To support conversion of DWG drawings AutoCAD 2017 or later must be installed. *The service based architecture and per user licensing model makes this software well suited for deployment on virtual servers. This greatly simplifies the process of scaling machine resources for PixEdit® Server so that it will have the document throughput capacity that your company or organization needs. |

About Windows Updates
Although not strictly a system requirement for our software products, we strongly advise you to always keep your Windows operating system updated with the latest updates from Microsoft. We recommend setting 'Windows Updates' to perform automatic updating at least every week.
Important information about PixEdit® Desktop 64-bit and document scanners
Please be aware that a true 64-bit TWAIN driver is required in order to use your scanner with the 64-bit version of PixEdit® Desktop. As of today, very few scanner manufacturers actually provide this. If you are in doubt whether such a driver exists for your scanner model, please contact the scanner manufacturer or PixEdit
