Increase the value of your scanned documents!
Scanned documents are basically just digital photos of the original paper documents. To be able to index and search for text in a scanned document, you must first run it through a process called OCR - Optical Character Recognition. OCR interprets scanned document pages and translates the pictures of the letters into real text.
With the PixEdit® OCR, you can perform OCR manually on an already scanned document or automatically after scanning. By using the batch wizard you can very easily produce thousands or even millions of searchable PDF documents without user interaction. The recognized text may be pasted into any application.
Semi-automatic bookmark generation
Combined with the bookmark-tool, the OCR provides semi automatic bookmark functions so that you may easily produce PDF documents that have even better readability.

PixEdit® offers many different ways to perform OCR. You can OCR selected areas to clipboard, produce searchable PDF or plain text files.
Documents containing recognized text should be saved in PDF format. PixEdit® adds the text as hidden, i.e. "invisible data" behind the original scanned image. This way the files are viewed exactly as they were scanned, and the hidden text is used for searching the document and for copying text into other applications.
